Remembrances

We never met Dr. Salimbene but we would like to share some extraordinary remembrances with you.

We remeber Dr. Salimbene every Christmas to this day and think of the joy he spread with his magnificent holiday decorations. Our house was on Webster Road just a few blocks from the Salimbene home and every Christmas we would walk to his house and marvel at the decorations. Christmas would not be Christmas if we did not say to each other "remeber the Salimbene house in Scarsdale?"

I (Carol) understand that Dr. Salimbene did his residence at Flushing Hospital where I was born but I was not delivered by him. I lived about four blocks away on Beech Avenue until Tom and I married.

When we married, we lived in Bronxville in Westchester where my mother and I (Carol) were treated at Lawrence Hospital where Dr.Salimbene worked.

Sadly, our paths never crossed but we will cherish the memory of this extraordiary person.
