Sheila Edith Durso passed away on 8/28/16, with her daughter by her side. Sheila lived in the UK and fell in love with Anthony when he was stationed in the air force in England. She at the time was a seamstress in the garment industry in Marble Arch, London. Sheila and Anthony had their first son Stephen Durso in the UK. Sheila continued her profession when she moved with Anthony to the US. She then had another child, David Durso. Sheila was a nurturing mom while continuing her seamstress profession here in the US. She had a daughter years later named Catherine Durso. When Catherine was in school, Sheila would volunteer her time to teach young children how to read. Her British accent amused the children.
Sheila is survived by her dear husband Anthony, her daughter Catherine, her sisters Betty and Margaret, her grandchildren Joseph, Andrea, Christina, Nicholas, Angela, and Stephanie. She was predeceased by her two dear sons Stephen and David, and many of her loved family members. Sheila loved the beach, gardening, reality TV shows, her pets, praying for loved ones, and bright or pastel colors that are welcomed at the wake and funeral.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Thursday 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held Friday 9/2 at Kensico Cemetery at 10:30am.
