I'm saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Christopher at such a young age! He worked so hard to achieve his goal of getting a degree to become self sufficient. May the Lord reunite him in paradise with his grandparents William and Elizabeth with whom he shared a mutual love, and his mother Maureen. When I first came to Tuckahoe in the year 2000, I first met Chris through several classes while starting out in my middle school years. We were going to some concerts by some classmates in a few independent bands that were from Tuckahoe. He was a member of the Tuckahoe High School's inaugurial bowling team in 2005. We had some good times both in & out of the school talking about our favorite video games, movies, TV shows & music. He was a good friend, a good teammate & a good bowler as well.

What I'll remember most about Chris is his laugh. He had an easy going chuckle. He would shuffle his feet and shrug his shoulders a bit too. It wasn't hard to make him laugh either. I wish I had told you how important you were to me and how much joy you brought into my life. I hope you found relief from whatever pain you were experiencing. I'll miss you.

While I was still living in Westchester and working at the Galleria Mall in White Plains, Southard never stopped coming in to visit me. Anytime he was at the mall for whatever reason, he'd pop in even if it was just to say, "Hey." I didn't tell him then and now I'll never get the chance, but there were times that it brightened up my day more than he could know. Retail is monstrous to deal with and a familiar, friendly face broke the monotony of it all. He was always great to talk to and filled with so much caring for others. My condolences to others who are hurting over this immense loss to the the world. R.I.P. Southard. You're gone, but I promise you're not forgotten.

I met Chris working at Best Buy with him in the Gaming department in 2011. He and I immediately bonded due to our mutual love of Video Gaming and similar sense of humor, as well as our many years in retail. He took me under his wing, being new to the company. He knew EVERYTHING there was to know at BB. Whether it be how to do a particular thing on the computer system or even how to properly put together and fix the store's vacuums (And even to know how much it cost the company to order security devices). One of the most brilliant people I've ever met. I'm glad I got a chance to meet, work with and call him my friend. Such a genuine person who cared about everyone. I'll never forget his reassuring talks and pat on the shoulder when things got hectic at work or life , as well as his excitement sharing with me the new comics he would pick up on comic book day, or the latest addition to his vinyl record collection. Or just sharing a laugh of some absurd situation at work, to tellinge of his dream to teach. And how proud I was when he left to finish school and then actually achieve his dream of teaching. He took pride in helping anybody with just about anything. I will miss you buddy. You were one of a kind man. May you rest in peace. Never to be forgotten in the hearts and minds of all those who ever knew him. Long live "The Godfather of Gaming"

Chris was the kindest, brightest and most well adjusted soul around. His grandparents lived across the street from the house I grew up in so I had the privilege of watching him grow from this shy, uncomfortable boy into a remarkably outgoing, well spoken and incredibly positive man. All of his hard work and accomplishment throughout life made my family proud. The obstacles he overcame were in no way easy and his drive was unmatched. My late mother had a special bond with Chris and his appreciation towards her kindness was always expressed tenfold. My father, sister and I are all terribly upset by his passing; I will always remember Chris as inspiring.

I am deeply sadden about this. Chris was both my husband and I friend. We bonded over the love of Punk music and would talk occasionally over vinyl records and music. I would try to tell him about how proud I was of him for being the best spirit I have ever met through the rough times and the best of times. We would see him occasionally but every time we saw each other it was the best time. He never had a bad thing to say, always looking to the positive of things. I know both my husband and I will miss him dearly.

We didn't know Christopher well, only through our son, Michael, we learned that Christopher had a heart of gold and was a wonderful human being and had a smile that could light up a room.
